This Inspirational Interview brought to you by Tangee Veloso:
A hybrid of all trades: an Author, a Connection Life Coach that specializes in conscious co-parenting, Founder & Executive Director of Family Love Village, virtual assistant, bartender, fire performer, spoken word artist, and most importantly a conscious mom.
I was born in San Francisco and moved to Los Angeles when I was ten years old and have been here ever since. I currently live in the San Fernando Valley, CA). I guess you could say I’m a Valley Girl! LOL
My book that just recently launched last month, “Taming Your Wild Child: 7 Proven Principles for Raising Connected and Confident Children.” People can find the book on Amazon.
I am also excited to announce that I will be interviewed in the Ultimate Moms’ Summit! From May 1-4, Meredith Canaan and Bette Alkazian will be holding a virtual summit that brings together 40+ top household names in all areas of parenting. Learn more about the FREE Ultimate Moms’ Summit lineup, and sign up by clicking here.
My mission is to empower co-parents to communicate with empathy while raising connected and confident children. My commitment to bringing the community together with the focus and awareness around conscious and sustainable living and compassionate parenting through connection is an ever-evolving passion. My other passion is through my organization, Family Love Village where we help to support and educate ourselves on parenting through connection and eco-holistic living. One of our programs called EAKK! (EcoArt Kidz Kollectiv!) is very near and dear to my heart where we bring this program to music and art festivals where families can experience an eco-interactive environment for our children. Here, they can discover and learn the value of recycling and re-purposing items while turning them into creative art projects that are fun and educational. Other interactive activities that we bring to events are Family Love Yoga, KinderMix DJ Party, Family Parade, Breakdancing, Hula hooping, and much, much more! The global mission for the EAKK! the program is to form allies with schools, restaurants, organizations and corporations to support the EAKK! projects by donating their “junk” for our program at these festivals. This not only supports the “junk into fun art” concept but it educates these organizations towards becoming conscious citizens of the world.
The thing I am most proud of is having the determination and hummingbird energy to finish my book in time for the book launch. I had written my book about three years ago but knew there was so much more richness to add to the book. So when I was in a Speaking and Writing to Wow Mastermind (facilitated by both my mentors and friends, Kim Somers Egelsee and Susie Augustin), they said whoever finished their book and sent it to their editor first would have the opportunity to launch their book with them in March 2017. This challenge to stretch me was announced in October 2016. I knew right then and there that the Universe was giving me a loud and clear message that this was my time! I had five months to revise the book, have it edited and books printed in order to meet the deadline and I actually accomplished it! There is only one other experience in my life where I tirelessly pushed through with such warrior energy and determination and that was birthing my son naturally in the comfort of my own home. Both experiences – truly a labor of love.
It’s less about me and more about the message that I’m relaying. I’m just the messenger and truly passionate about co-creating community and support around conscious parenting. For those that truly know me, the community is so very important to me. I have organized numerous workshops locally and at massive festivals with amazing board members, Sonia Wike and Eva Lea and our volunteer staff for our organization Family Love Village (FLV). FLV’s sole vision is to co-create a thriving community to support and educate families on parenting through connection and eco-holistic living. We get hired to bring one of our programs called EAKK! (EcoArt Kidz Kollectiv!) to music and art festivals where we can produce an amazing family experience for children, teens, and parents. Another program of ours, Playdates 4 a Cause (which is lead/coordinated by one of our other FLVillage mamas, Crystal D’Angora), brings more awareness with families and their children in modeling compassion and helping others in need (i.e. donating new and gently used items to the homeless, cleaning up the beach, etc). Presently, we are also starting up our local gatherings (facilitated with one of our other FLVillage mamas, Jennifer Kelly, owner of The Yogi Tree in Toluca Lake – where our local gatherings are held). This is again where we have conscious speakers that share their wisdom on topics that educate on conscious parenting and eco-holistic living.
I’m also a Conscious Connection Coach. My forte is working with parents who are separated or divorced who crave a better way to communicate with one another in order to raise happier and more confident children. I do this by helping them to discover the love within themselves so that it can guide them with how they communicate with others.
I also work with individuals who may not necessarily be in a situation with co-parenting though. The main focus of what I do is to empower people to connect to their best versions of themselves in order to BE what they love to do. A lot of times people tend to do in order to get. But what if the journey isn’t about just doing but about being in order to receive?
What if all the things that we are doing in the world are only filling up a void in our lives and stopping us from being in our greatness? OR what if we were to actually do what we truly and passionately love doing (whether through writing, playing music, snowboarding, spending time with your kids or even as simple as drinking your favorite cup of tea – whatever the case may be that you find joy and fulfillment in). How much more could we be for ourselves and for our loved ones when we are actually doing the things we LOVE doing? And even more impactful than just doing, but who we are being while we are loving what we do?
Once you are able to come from this space vs. just doing it to do it, you will begin to notice that who you are BEING in the world makes you actually FEEL good about yourself. Thus, you begin to fall in love with the person looking in the mirror, YOU. And simultaneously, you will begin to notice that the world is falling in love with you, too, as opportunities start to present themselves that create abundance in your life. The abundance of happiness, health, financial freedom, and your relationships with your loved ones.
When I was about 5 years old, one of my favorite things in the whole wide world at that time was to greet people as they walked by. Every weekend, I would set up my stool and stand on top of it so that I could see over the railing of the balcony on the 2nd floor of my townhome. And I would wave to everyone down below that would walk by and I would say, “Hi! My name is, Tangee!” I remember having the biggest smile and probably most likely saying hi to the same people every weekend as they walked their dogs. LOL, I didn’t care though because I just LOVED greeting everyone. That’s kind of how I’ve always seen life – I’ve kind of always just loved connecting with people and connecting people to one another. I didn’t realize it then but I was building my skills as a networker and connector. It tickles me knowing that I’m still that little girl inside who just loves making people feel welcome and bringing people together.

Do you think World Peace is possible?
Yes, I do feel it could be possible. The one thing that could help in this direction would be if everyone were to focus on self-love, as well as shift how we are raising our children with a partnership with rather than a relationship of power over.
Do you think humans should be concerned about the planet?
Absolutely! We should be concerned with how we are treating Mama Gaia. Everything is connected and how we connect to everything is central to how we, as parents, can foster confidence, compassion, and cooperation in our children. Anywhere from conception to birth to attachment parenting to how we fuel our own bodies…these are all essential elements in how we decide to raise our children, consciously. And not just our children but how we choose to raise one another, how we choose to raise Mother Earth and all creatures and living things on the planet, as well as how we are raising and loving ourselves. We do have a choice and the more we become aware of our choices – whether to buy into big corporations or to support local, sustainable companies; whether to continue buying into the industrial farming industry or supporting more humanely-raised farming practices, whether we choose to buy into over-consumption or choosing not to use single-use items, such as plastic straws and other plastic-ware; whether to choose harsh chemically-infested products or more eco-friendly and biodegradable products. We do have a choice – it is just a matter of becoming aware of our choices and choosing a more conscious and connected choice with raising our children, one another, our planet, and ourselves. Because what we choose can and has been affecting our society and our world. It is time for us to become Planet Protectors, to take a stand and have our voices heard in a way that moves beyond hate and disconnection.
We have all been so deeply programmed in our society and ingrained with a “power over”, that it is now time to shift our perception to a lens of empathy and create a stance of “working with”. It all begins with how we are consciously raising our children, how we are consciously raising/uplifting one another, and how we are raising Mama Gaia. Because, somehow, I have a feeling that Mama Gaia will live on with or without us and the generations that follow in our footsteps. It all depends on how we are choosing to raise one another up (or not to). So it is up to us to come together as a conscious community and collectively find ways to stand together; not against each other. From the two-legged to the four-legged to the scaled, and the winged; to the land, to the oceans, to the air – all of it is an interwoven symbiosis of connection. (an excerpt from my book, Taming Your Wild Child).
What do you think is the meaning of life?
To me, the meaning of life is not something that is discovered outside of oneself. It is re-membered within oneself.
Where do you think your soul comes from?
From the infinite Source.
Have you ever had a near death experience?
Yes. When I was about 6 years old I nearly drowned in the ocean. I remember tumbling under water and seeing the rays of the sun streaming through the water as I began to sink below. I had gone so far out into the sea, I was between these two big boulders and if my Uncle Bruce wouldn’t have been able to save me, they would’ve had to get a boat out to look for me. Soon after that, my mom signed me up for swim lessons during the summer.
What do you think is the key to a healthy relationship?
The keys are mutual respect and empathetic communication with one another, including how we treat and talk to ourselves.
If you could be a spokesperson for any brand or company what would it be?

What is your definition of sexy?
My definition of being sexy is being in my power!
Do you think bully is avoidable or that it should be just accepted as part of right so passage? Where does it come from?
Yes. bullying can be avoided and should never just be accepted as part of a rite of passage! Bullying can stem from how children are being treated within their own homes to authoritative figures, such as teachers and caregivers. Some wonder where children learn it from but little do they realize that the relationship of power over is where it can begin.
