No Wonder You Were Afraid to Ask #23 – George Monroy- A Third Chance at Life, Leads to True Love

for tonyinter

I first met George in March of 2012, when I showed up to volunteer at the World Famous Caine’s arcade. You can learn more about Caine’s Arcade here. I believe this was right before he suffered his first heart attack. After that setback, George turned his life around.

George recalled the event, “Five years ago on a Friday night, I was getting ready for a 2-day event at Unique LA for Caine’s Arcade, I broke out in a cold sweat and I was rushed to the ER within minutes, That was my first heart attack, my doctor put me on a plant-based diet to prevent a second heart attack, eight months later after a 6-mile walk with my friend Angelina I had a second heart attack and I had bi-pass surgery.”

He continued, “After my first heart attack, I started walking at the Rose Bowl with my friend Angelina, after we mastered the loop with started hiking, I now belong to three different hiking groups and hike at least three times a week, I met the love of my life hiking to the Hollywood Sign. We both lead healthy lifestyles and share the love for hiking. I also like to cook and put on cooking classes to share what I have learned from my recovery teaching people how to pave the road to a longer life. After two heart attacks, I promote healthy eating and lifestyle change for everyone and at any age, it’s never too late to turn your life around. My life is much different now, I no longer smoke cigarettes or abuse alcohol and I’m finally getting divorced after 24 years, life feels so good now, I just met the women of my dreams and we have plans to get married.”
