Being Vegan, Vegan Being: Kim Pépin Jubinville – Be the Change Through Inspiration Rather than Provocation!

My name is Kim and I’m from St-Jerome.

I’ve worked as a hospital orderly for seven years. I am also an associate for the Muses Canada Foundation, an international non-profit organization that promotes solidarity by giving back to others. Since 2020, I have been part of an organization that helps stray dogs in the Dominican Republic. I also volunteer for the refugees Inspecteurs Canins.

After my first trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands, I had a wake-up call about animal cruelty. I realized I was part of the problem by my ability to consume animal products. Then, with the help of the Internet, I’ve learned more and more about how it is related to the environment and our health.

I am now a proud vegan since 2020. The most important thing for me is to respect life itself, but also each and every life. My favorite documentary is without a doubt “Terriens”. Although I am unable to watch that kind of movie. I already know the unbearable consequences of our actions and I’m doing everything in my power to pursue the fight against animal cruelty. I participated in many demonstrations against the fur industry and I protest for the closure of slaughterhouses. I hate it when people say that a vegan diet lacks in proteins. I answer by showing my muscled arms and legs. My favorite vegan recipe is the poutine. I thank God and the creator of the brand Gusta for their vegan cheese. I don’t really have a favorite vegan restaurant though because I like to cook at home for my fiancé and me.

Furthermore, I would like to invite newly vegans to give a chance to this new way of life. Get ready to raise your conscience to a new standard and to get back on every level. For me, the term “without animal cruelty” means that there was no exploitation of any kind on any animal.

For the vegan life to be easier, there should be an easier access to vegan products all around the world and in every store. Last but not least, I’d like to call on all of my vegan friends and say: be the change you wanna see, but through inspiration rather than provocation.
