No Wonder You Were Afraid to Ask #46 – Abhishek Dhawan, Founder and CEO, Feelsofts – Stay hungry, Stay Foolish

This Inspirational Interview brought to you by Abhishek Dhawan, Founder, and CEO of Feelsofts.

I was born in Baramati, A rural place in India. I am a drop out from college who founded a successful tech company that caters to all business requirements. “Feelsofts”, against all odds, managed to triumph in the technologically challenged town in Maharashtra called Baramati.

I was a dropout, being a topper in college once. I was a drop out by choice because I was not able to understand how traditional education would help me become successful. I was living in an area where people were unaware of technology. But I didn’t lose hope. I succeeded against all odds. I am most proud that I was able to setup and run a Software company being a dropout in a place where people are not techno geeks.
.
When others saw challenges and barriers in starting a technology based company in Baramati, I saw opportunity in this untapped market, so-much-so, that in spite of topping my college, I dropped out from engineering in my 2nd year, after starting off with some ground work on my company. The cherry on top for me was that my family was very supportive of my decision.

After being a dropout I was left with no hope to find a way to success. It was the phase of life when everyone lost hope in me. They thought I was a failure. So I decided to start over. I started up with a company called Feelsofts. I lived in a rural area of India. A place where people were unaware of technology. People said there was no opportunity to sell software, but I thought otherwise. Everyone thought, “No awareness means no market.” I said “no market, means no competition, so a great chance of monopoly”. The big question was how to sell to them and make them use of software. The other challenge was that many of them were unaware of what software was and how could it change their businesses.

To overcome we understood the requirement and hurdles of business like the need for regional languages in software, Easy GUI for use, etc. We developed the products considering all the above factors. Also, we developed the products on standard guideline so it could be Globally Accepted. In initial stages we went to people, we showed the prototype, run a live demo. The result was jaw dropping such that people accepted our products. From a seed sowed eight years ago we have turned to a blooming tree. We are looking to grow globally, anyone interested can join us.
