Inspirational Moment: Ryan Light – Running from Anxiety to Mental Health Healing

This Inspirational Moment brought to you by Ryan Light, Alpharetta, GA via Seattle, WA & NY, NY.

What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to go through in your life?

My OCD/Anxiety at times have been debilitating. One event I can remember was in my late 30’s (38) I started to have panic attacks every day, all day. It had gotten so bad that I contemplated suicide.

What did you learn from it that you could pass on to someone else?

I’ve learned that life has it’s up and downs. We must be open about our struggles, and reach out for help. This is where I found running as a last resort and it saved my life – literally!

What has been the Happiest Moment of your life?

The birth of my first son as anyone with kids I can, I’m sure, relate. The joy and fear of brining a child into the word is nothing but fear and joy mixed into an ever ending emotional roller-coaster.
