What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to go through in your life?
That’s a deep question for me – being this is a public platform I may need to keep it PG 😱…out of respect to my family let’s just say I had many challenges growing up but I came out strong and got through it all. I think most of us can relate to that.
What did you learn from it that you could pass on to someone else?
Life seems to come with many challenges but I have learned to accept it and use it to help others in return. I am who I am today because of these challenges. I am able to relate to others who have gone through similar challenges, I have compassion and understanding for others, and really it has shaped my worldview. I say use life’s challenges to create awareness and use them as tools in your life to move forward. I also learned the importance of creating healthy boundaries and walking away from destructive situations.
What has been the Happiest Moment of your life?
There are too many to count but giving birth to our three children would have to be my happiest moments. 💗 I was able to give birth to my third in my own home with a midwife and with the beautiful support of my husband, children, mother, mother in law, neighbors and friends. What a nostalgic experience for us all. I can’t explain to you the feeling but all I can say is that motherhood has provided me with many happy moments.
What is your Passion?
My passions have evolved through the years…I’ve had many. I would have to say activism. Speak up and stand up for injustice! Look outside your own circumstance and know that when one of us suffers we all suffer.
My passions range from creating awareness about Domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness, mental illness, veterans issues, Environmental issues, the dangers of GMO’s, vaccines, women’s rights, racial justice, women of color, immigration, Black Lives Matter, police brutality, politics, health freedom, pro-choice issues, education, homeschooling your children etc…the list goes on.
Stay informed and create awareness – it’s easy to get caught up in your own world but people are literally dying everyday because of the color of their skin, their gender, sexual preference, economic status, their religion…this will also give you perspective in life.
What inspires you?
My parents have been my inspiration in life💗
My mother inspires me to keep fighting and not give up even when life brings you challenges. When I share with her about challenges in my life she reminds me of how strong I am and that I can get through anything.
My father has a heart of gold and he reminds me to live in LOVE and to help those in need. When we were young he taught us to serve others in times of need. He has taught me the importance of respecting others and to look outside myself.
What is your favorite Inspirational Quote?
“Well behaved women, seldom make history”-Laurel Thatcher
“Here’s to strong women, may we know them, may we raise them, may we be them.”-Unknown
“When sleeping women wake, mountains move” – Chinese Proverb
Women have had their rights taken away and we need to do all we can to help them from their enslavement. I do see a shift in energy happening and it inspires me. When women see other women standing tall it gives them the support they need to walk away from oppression and empowers them to be true to themselves. This is why we need to stand together and advocate for women.
How do you try to inspire others?
Living in Love and Gratitude. It’s really up to the individual to be inspired – I say speak your truth and let others know they are not alone. Do not be afraid to be YOU.
One non-profit you support?
National Women’s Liberation” target=”_blank”>National Women’s Liberation is a feminist group for women who want to fight back against male supremacy and win more freedoms for women. We believe that change comes about from the actions of everyday people—not politicians, the courts, lobbyists, or the media.
What is one easy thing you can do to change the world for good in the next 24 hours?
Speak your truth. Be 100% authentically you. I think the world would be a better place if we were more accepting of others. Stop judging people and look outside your own circumstance and privilege. We could bring change if we show up in people’s lives when they need us the most and stand up to injustice.
