Brandee and I have been together for over 5 and a half years. We went vegetarian and vegan together and moved to Vancouver, WA a year ago. We started up activism when we moved here and love spreading the positive message. We work with DXE, Save Movement, and Anonymous for the Voiceless. We both work regular jobs but hope with our new business of mentorship and leadership we can walk away from our day jobs in the near future.
What was the moment you realize that you wanted to go vegan?
We were both vegetarian and learned more and just said it makes sense to go vegan and did but it was not easy. We can share the veg and vegan stories.
How long have you been Vegan?
Coming up on our two year anniversary!
Why is being Vegan important to you?
It is one of the best decisions we have made in our lives. We have learned so much about ourselves and grew because of the knowledge. Things we did not even imagine like our mental state started getting better. We have met some of the most incredible people who want justice for all throughout this journey. It teaches us things that do not even pertain to veganism like injustice everywhere, treating people with kindness, understanding people, and communication.

Some encouraging words for new Vegans?
Whether you have been doing it for a while or are a new vegan it is a journey. We all make mistakes and learn along the way and you will NEVER stop learning. Everyone has their own story and path. Our goal is the same but you will be taken away at what you didn’t expect to learn or feel. Don’t listen to other people’s negativity and speak up.
What does living cruelty-free mean to you?
I believe this word is ever changing especially now. It did mean not harming animals in what we eat, wear, and do for entertainment but now it is morphing into cruelty-free practices such as farming fruits and veggies and slave labor. Like I said it is all a journey and we are all in on this journey together.
