Being Vegan, Vegan Being: Fernando Anguiano – My Favorite Vegan

My name is Fernando Anguiano and live in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. I’m the only Vegan in my family, but I’ve always had everyone’s support. Even though I’ve been Vegan for many years now, I feel like I’m always learning something new. I’m into photography and have taken up Yoga as well. I currently make recipes and upload, “What I Eat In A Day,” videos for YouTube. I really enjoy using visual arts to show people how easy, fun and inexpensive, eating Vegan can be.

What was the moment you realize that you wanted to go vegan?

When I realized how the meat, dairy and egg industry really work. I was vegetarian since 1997 but had never really made the connection on how the food I was consuming, got to my plate.

I’ve had the opportunity to help out with a protest held by Mercy For Animals and PETA. PETA held protests in my area when the Circus was in town. It’s a really great experience and very fulfilling to be able to help.

Not at all. There’s pretty much a vegan option for any non-vegan food out there. Literally.
