My name is Danny Torres, I live in a small town called Weston, Florida. I work at a health foods store and frankly, I can’t wait to get out and move onto bigger and better things. When I’m not working, I’m doing everything that I can to speak up for my animal brothers and sisters! Everything I do in my life is to make this world a better place for them. Everything from protesting outside of cruel businesses to social media activism, and everything in between. My dream is to make this passion of mine into a full-time job. I want nothing but all the time in the world to stand up for these beautiful animals!!
You can follow my social media activism on my Instagram: @VeganWoodPusher and also on my girlfriend Sam’s Instagram: @Samlyhodges You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel to follow all of my crazy shenanigans! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWDaTM_nKxl36dtpQSsEhUA
What was the moment you realized that you wanted to go vegan?
I realized I wanted to go vegan when I found out that there was literally no need to consume animal products to be strong, healthy, and happy. I loved the idea that you could thrive without having to cause so much pain and suffering.
Why is being Vegan important to you?
The most important part about being vegan to me is being able to look an animal in the eye and know that I’m doing everything in my power to fight for their rights!
Any recommended social sites, Facebook Groups or other?
Check out Miami Animal Save on Facebook! This is where all the protests I go to are usually announced!
Do you have a favorite movie or videos or your own media that you want to share?
Earthlings is definitely a must if you consider yourself an animal lover
Do you actively promote veganism? How? Please share any stories you would like.
I promote veganism every single day of my life. I try to only wear shirts with vegan messages. If you ever see me in public you will most likely see me rocking one of my many vegan shirts! Another way I promote veganism on a daily basis is with my tattoos! I have “GO VEGAN” on my bicep and the Animal Liberation-Human Liberation fist and paw on my forearm!
What’s your favorite Vegan restaurant?
Green Bar & Kitchen in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
What is the one big stereotype you hear about Vegans that you want to dispel?
That meat is manly. So many dudes out there have this preconceived notion that veganism is only for females. They honestly believe that if they don’t eat meat then that somehow means they are less of a man. I find it hysterical that men think this way. Causing pain and suffering to someone who can’t do anything about it is not manly, it’s pathetic.
Some encouraging words for new Vegans?
If I can do it, anyone can. The amount of animal products I consumed was absolutely crazy. Just give it some time. It takes a bit of trial and error to find out which vegan foods and products are your favorite. I’ve found all of mine and I’ve never been happier!
Are you a cruelty-Free vegan?
Of course!!! Veganism is not a diet, It’s a lifestyle!!!!
What are you favorite Vegan non-food products or companies?
Green Tidings!!! This is the best vegan deodorant out there!!!! I love this product!!! Check them out!!
What is the toughest Vegan item to find that you need? Toothpaste, Deo, glue, etc..
For a while, it was finding a good deodorant that actually worked. Obviously, you know that is no longer a problem for me!!!
Talk about a time when you struggled with your Veganism?
I have never personally struggled with veganism. Dealing with people who just don’t get it is the only annoying part. The struggle is not with veganism, it’s with this brainwashed society we live in.
What is one question you would ask other Vegans? Please answer it.
Where do you get your protein? HAHAHAHA, just kidding!!!!
