Artists You Need to Know – David Kerr – Doing What He Would Do If He Wasn’t Afraid. (Photographer- Wyoming)

Hi everyone! My name is David Kerr, I am a 20 year old, Multimedia student at Casper College. I am an aspiring photographer and filmmaker, who plans on traveling across the country and living out of a 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon (hippie van with pop-tent on top).

My biggest passion in life is inspiring other people to get the most out of their own lives. I’ve decided that the best way to do this is to create visual art through a camera. I love adventure/lifestyle type of film making and photography, and portraits! I also love hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and going to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) concerts!

What is your number one thing on your bucket list?

I think it’d have to be a tie between base jumping or seeing the northern lights!

What is your favorite inspirational quote?

“So please go ask yourself: What would I do if I weren’t afraid? And then go do it.” – Sheryl Sandberg

What is the most adventurous thing you have ever done?

I hung my feet off of a 500 foot cliff just to get some cool videos and photographs!

What do you think the meaning of life is?

To me, the meaning of life is doing all the things you want to be doing and what you’re passionate about, and also giving back in some kind of way, broad but specific!

Are you afraid of dying?

Absolutely! But not in the way many of you think of “dying.” I am insanely afraid of dying. Waking up to a life with no dreams, no passions, no motivation, or no creating art. That is death to me. I am afraid of dying while my heart continues to beat. It’s not my body that I am afraid of losing, its my soul. To make it to the end of life and think “I just wish I would have traveled more, created more, seen more.” I am afraid of just simply existing from one day to the next and never truly living.
